The Importance Of Corporate Volunteers In The Nonprofit Sector

When's the last time you reached out to local corporations to recruit volunteers?

A recently released study by LBG Research Institute of more than 8,000 employees and 213 volunteer managers from 36 companies indicates that now may be the time to do so. Here are just a few of their findings:

  • 84% of employees say that volunteerism is part of their company culture.
  • 71% say that volunteer programs make most employees feel better about the company.
  • The top two motivators for employees include a personal interest in the cause and a commitment to helping charities through the current global financial crisis.
  • More than a third of employees say that they are allowed to volunteer during their workday. Whether you need program volunteers, committee volunteers, or Board members, now is the prime time to reach out to local corporations for support.
